Onze lucraram mais de 400 milhões de dólares, tendo alcançado o status de 'blockbuster internacional'. Este ano quebrou o recorde de 2003, com nove filmes que lucraram mais de 400 milhões de dólares. Dois (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End e Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) lucraram mais de 900 milhões de dólares, tornando-os o quinto e o sexto filmes mais lucrativos internacionalmente, respectivamente, na história.
