Perry Morris Robinson (Nova Iorque, 17 de setembro de 1938 – 2 de dezembro de 2018) foi um clarinetista e compositor de jazz americano. Era filho do compositor Earl Robinson.

Biografia

Robinson cresceu na cidade de Nova Iorque e frequentou a Lenox School of Jazz em Massachusetts em meados do ano de 1959. Sua primeira gravação, Funk Dumpling (com Kenny Barron, Henry Grimes e Paul Motian) foi feita me 1962. Ele também apareceu com Grimes em The Call em 1965. Robinson serviu o numa banda militar no início da década de 1960. Desde 1973 ele tem trabalhado com Jeanne Lee e Gunter Hampel na Galaxie Dream Band. Ele participou do álbum de Dave Brubeck, Two Generations of Brubeck e do álbum de klezmer da banda holandesa Burton Greene Klezmokum, além de ter liderado bandas próprias.

De 1975 a 1977, Robinson foi membro de uma banda chamada Clarinet Contrast, com os clarinetistas alemães Theo Jörgensmann e Bernd Konrad. Ele gravou com Lou Grassi como membro da banda PoBand desde o final da década de 1990 e com Lou Grassi, Wayne Lopes e Luke Faust em 'The Jug Jam', uma banda de improviso.

Sua autobiografia, Perry Robinson: The Traveler (com coautoria de Florence F. Wetzel), foi publicada em 2002.
