The Kinks foi uma banda de rock britânica formada em Londres em 1963 por Pete Quaife e Ray Davies.
A formação original era composta por Ray Davies (guitarra guia, vocalista pincipal, composições principais), Dave Davies (compositor, guitarrista principal, guitarra rítmica, vocais), Pete Quaife (baixo, vocais) e Mick Avory (bateria).
Durante sua carreira o grupo se tornou infame por seus conflitos, tanto públicos quanto privados, particularmente entre os irmãos Ray e Dave, que frequentemente degringolavam em agressões.
