Daimore, you said you would link the article of Pier Gerlofs Donia to other pages on this wikipedia, looking at the pages to which it links on en:wiki at

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:WhatLinksHere/Pier_Gerlofs_Donia&limit=500

You said you would start "right away". As of now, you haven't done any linking yet; will you perhaps do so know? You see, I am not just someone who drops a request for translation and then leaves when it is (partially) done. No way man! I am the type of user that comes here in order to really get the article into this wikipedia. If no pages (or very few) link to it, how are people going to find it! The article on the english wikipedia has hundreds of links: it has appeared on numerous templates, is in many "see also" lists on many articles and the image of Donias statue is currently on some 20 pages. So I ask you: will you proceed as you told you would and link this article to other articles? Thanks in advance, I will be awaiting your answer and regulary clicking "http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Especial:P%C3%A1ginas_afluentes/Pier_Gerlofs_Donia" ; the article as of today only links to one wikipedia page: list of pirates, against +200 articles on en:wiki, so there you go! Well, in any case, I am very contend with the work you have done so far translating. See you later,

PS: I Hope I am not to demanding but... I really would like to see thinks done the way they should be. There should be at least 30 articles that should contain links to the article about Pier Gerlofs Donia on this wikipedia, probably even more.

Answered in your talk page, still I don't know what's your interest in this subject, but I'll finish the translation soon. Linking is a whole different thing, demanding a lot of work and hopefully some help, which I'll start after the article is done. See ya. Daimore msg 12h52min de 28 de Outubro de 2008 (UTC)

I am interested in him because he is the biggest Frisian folk hero. 86.89.146.118 (discussão) 15h59min de 28 de Outubro de 2008 (UTC)

I see, the story is quite cool, but his deeds never entered Brazil at least. Guess he's like Tiradentes for Frisians, ever heard of him? Haha Daimore msg 18h41min de 28 de Outubro de 2008 (UTC)

As a matter of fact, I have, the guy has been Brazil's national hero ever since the late 1800's! Cool figure: those type of freedom fighter (including Donia and his nephew Jelckama) really deserve the publics attention. I sincerely hope Donia's deeds now will enter Brazil and Portugal soon! At least it won't be your mistake when they don't! I just think anyone who lifts horses, bends coins in between his fingers and has a real huge sword is very cool, would you no agree, eh? 86.89.146.118 (discussão) 21h25min de 28 de Outubro de 2008 (UTC)

Hehe, yes, indeed. Daimore msg 00h35min de 29 de Outubro de 2008 (UTC)

Artigos afluentes[editar código-fonte]

just watched artigos afluentes (articles linked) found very few. maybe someone could work on that. the article itself looks absolutely brilliant, the progress is slow but steady and well referenced, maybe i could help later on but daimore seems to do fine.

Translation is almost done, but sure some help could be used on "what links here" section. I've been having some problems with red links, which are a lot, and I wanna have them all available, translated one or two important words already. Pier can be linked to piracy, legends, rebellion, Dutch history, so many things, still it's just about 10 pages linking to him against hundreds on English wiki.
I also added more references here, linked to other stuff that en.wiki didn't, so not only I have to check the translation but also modify the original version. But it's going fine, a little slow but with a lot of attention. Daimore msg 15h03min de 5 de Novembro de 2008 (UTC)

Page vistits[editar código-fonte]

I see Daimore has been linking this article to many pages. I would like to ask Daimore if he could link it to several more articles - the best would be i f you would link the article on pages that get much views - i saw the view count of the article and I noticed it only gets 20 visits a day at best. I was so delighted to see a user (you) from Portugese wikipedia made an article on Grutte Pier and it is such a beautiful article i would like many people to see it! 20 visits a day should be at least 100 visits a day (at english wikipedia the article has between 500 and 700 visits a day so that is a great difference!) 193.172.170.26 (discussão) 14h11min de 26 de Novembro de 2008 (UTC)

Yea, I've been trying to link this article to existing pages, but it's very hard since we have so little articles about pirates, historical rebels and Frysian history in general. This page is among the best written and referenced articles in Portuguese wiki, I believe, covering a huge part of his history, yet it doesn't get the deserved attention. On the past days I've been trying to get more divulgation here, and maybe get some help in correcting the red links and all, but I'm pretty much alone in this work. Since I have already added his link to all our pirate/rebels/guerrillas lists (I think), and we have few similar pages, I've been busy creating new pages that used to be red links (even Guelders!), and I'll keep working on this for the next days. Daimore msg 14h59min de 26 de Novembro de 2008 (UTC)

Its a shame, Daimore. Well, one thing: what about adding his name to articles such as Carlos of Spain and The Holy Roman Empire? Those are the type of articles that get much views. You see, the type of articles that get much view (lets say, a list of tallest people), or a list of heroical figures, or freedom fighers, or articles on guerilla warfare, those type of articles should have him in there. The image of his statue could be in an article about statues, with a link to his name in a link written below. It really is not that hard: you are writing entire articles to get him some attention, you should include him in the large articles related to him, those that already get attention. Then your article will get the attention it deserves. For example: Donia could behead several people at once. That is some feat nobody could ever repeat, you could include that in an article about beheading\decapitating. With an image of course. Also: he was a folk hero, if there is an article on folk heroes, include him there. He is a legendary figure; include him in an article on legends (there must be one). And then at last, I could say, maybe he could be included in an article about Giants, he was the Goliath of the North after all. You see, this is what you could do, he'll get very much attention that way and people would notice it and start helping you! Hope this helps you, 193.172.170.26 (discussão) 08h38min de 27 de Novembro de 2008 (UTC)

well done, are u gonna link it to more pages

Hope so, I'm gonna do the final edit of this translation in two days (after seeing the updates on the English page), when I hope more people can join the linking and expanding. Daimore msg 14h12min de 6 de Janeiro de 2009 (UTC)

Good luck then! You did a great job! 86.89.146.118 (discussão) 19h45min de 7 de Janeiro de 2009 (UTC)

Why is everyone here speaking in enlish? Great Peter/Grande Pedro, em latim, seria algo como Petrus Magnus, Petro Magno. Pierius é latim para Piério, a "abrasileiração" de Pierre.
