O sangue do grupo B tem a sua freqüência mais elevada no Sul da Ásia , onde ele ocupa o primeiro lugar como a maior parte da população da terra. No Sudeste da Ásia , a parcela da população é alta, especialmente na Tailândia e Indonésia, na Ásia Oriental, Norte da Ásia e vizinhos da Ásia Central, e sua incidência diminui tanto para o leste e o oeste, cair para um dígito, percentagens, países baixos, Noruega, Portugal e Suíça.[40][41] acredita-se ter sido inteiramente ausente dos Nativos Americanos e Australianos populações indígenas antes da chegada dos Europeus nessas áreas.[42]

Grupo sanguíneo A está associado com frequências altas na Europa, especialmente na Escandinávia e Europa Central, embora seus maiores frequências ocorrem em algumas populações Aborígenes Australianos e os Índios Blackfoot de Montana, EUA.[43][44]
