Hi, I (Mandavi) from the german Wikipedia am applying for Bot-status for Bot-Schafter.

The bot is already running on several wikipedias - here the contributions: english, german, swedish, czech, arabic, hebrew and danish.

The bot will add the Os melhores artigos star () into the interWiki as you should be able to see in the article Go. This will help to improve the Portuguese articles since people with enough knowledge of foreign languages can translate from the approved content of the marked articles. The bot is running stable, has about 10.000 Edits and so far no single complaint.

The Bot is based on the pywikipedia framework and will run once every one or two month with a max. two edits per minute. Have a look at the user-page for more details and the source of the script.

Hi Leonardo, I modified the script, so it works probably quite different form your bot. It will find all doubles of the template like {{FA|es}} and {{link_FA|es}} and delete one of them, place the corrected form behind the Spanish interwiki - and all that even though it is actually adding English templates. Please have a look at the contributions i.e. this, this or that one where the template is {{UA:xx}}. In any case, it corrects the spelling from the template to {{Link FA:xx}} and moves all templates behind their according interwiki - but only when the template is really missing - otherwise it won't change anything. Also I am working on an addition that it will delete the template for articles where it lost the featured status or was just added by mistake according to categories like that. --Bot-Schafter 21:19, 22 Novembro 2006 (UTC)

Hola! Idioma-bot works in portuguese wikipedia some months but unfortunately hasn't bot flag because nobody vote in my previous request. So, I want to request for flag status again. This bot have flags in 10 wikipedias (english, spanish, russian, french, etc.). It would be very good to have flag in portuguese wikipedia because the bot wouldn't pollute recent changes page. É bot activo na língua de origem. Aqui estará parado, talvez devido ao impasse. Na wiki.de teve actuação regular no início mas parece que desde há 2 meses parou quase totalmente. O mesmo em relação à wiki.fr. O mesmo em relação à wiki.es. The page says something about normal user being forbidden from having "bot" in their name, but in the other hand, nothing seems to force a robot account to contain "bot"(I answered from what I guessed of the text, sorry if it's off the real question). Darkoneko 19:30, 1 Maio 2007 (UTC)
Actually, from Wikipedia:Robôs/Pedidos de aprovação#Pedidos de renomeação de contas: "(...)é obrigatório ter na conta do bot a expressão "bot" ou "robô"", meaning that it is mandatory to have "bot" or "robô" (I guess "robot" is ok too) in the bot's account name. I would suggest a change of name; you can do it on this page, adding
{{subst:Renomear|current name|new name|reason}} ~~~~

I'm sorry, but as I'm trying to keep the same user name everywhere, I'll have to decline that invitation.
On my defense, even without -bot in it's name, all edit comment already contains "robot modify/add" in the local language.
If there's no way without that renaming, I'm afraid I won't be able to run the bot there :(

I see you have been editing already and without problems, so I think you can just wait until our bureaucrat has some time to deal with the bot flags (you should have waited for authorizaton to run though, some edits were a bit too fast for a non-flagged bot). O pedido para marcação de bot que uma pessoa que fala português é diferente que uma que não fala e somente utiliza o bot para interwiki automático, sem interação com língua da wikipedia em português. Utilizar o bot para arrumar desambiguações e mover artigos está mais ligado a responsabilidade do operador do bot do que com o próprio software, que neste caso só vai ajudar a dinamizar a tarefa. --leonardo 11h32min de 3 de Setembro de 2007 (UTC)

Na verdade, sendo eu sysop também, poderia começar com os testes :P mas queria averiguar se acham este bot útil ou não. Apercebi-me que não existem muitos bots a fazer manutenção rotineira dentro da Wikipédia lusófona; e vi que não é muito difícil correr um bot, pelo que com algumas dicas de usuários mais experientes, poderei vir a dominar o assunto.
