Just wanted to comment that Ukitake's name should be Juushirou. Not sure about the Portuguese version of the manga though, it might be different. Sorry for not speaking Portuguese by the way. -- Ynhockey 19:36, 3 Março 2006 (UTC)
- It's funny. I've seen Jyuushirou, Joushirou and Juushirou. Jyuushirou isn't right, in my opinion. Joushirou and Juushirou in portuguese have the same pronunciation, so it's no big deal, but I will see if I can find the right one. Vitor 3000™ 22:49, 3 Março 2006 (UTC)
- Juushirou (十四郎) is the correct one. You can look here. Juu (jū) = 10, shi = 4, rou (rō) = son. So, Juushirou means '14th son'. Many Japanese people were named this way, especially in medieval times, by the number they are in the family (tarō, jirō, saburō, etc.) Maybe you don't trust me because of my mistake with Shinji Hirako ;) -- Ynhockey 21:30, 5 Março 2006 (UTC)
This time you're right. It really is Juushirou, not Joushirou, but as I said the pronunciation isn't very differente, so... Anyway, I'll change it now. Thanks for the tip. Ah, by the way, do you know how it's said the Grimmjow surname? I chose Jaguarjack, but I don't know if it's right. If you know, say to me. I'm really wanting to know. It's very complicated his name! - Although I don't believe it has ever been officially written in English, the Katakana says: Jagaajakku (using a- as long a). Judging by other English words written in Katakana, such as 'heavy smoker' (hebiisumookaa) and 'Union Jack' (yunionjakku) - both taken from Kodansha's dictionary, you can tell that the spelling is probably Jagerjack. However, Jager in English would be jeigaa in Japanese, so we add the extra 'g' to make it sound logical. I have yet to see a more logical transliteration than Jaggerjack, however, as I said before, we can't be sure it's 100% correct. I've also never seen non-English words transliterated with long a with a long sound line (a-). -- Ynhockey 17:14, 7 Março 2006 (UTC)
- Also wanted to add that you can probably use the English Wikipedia as a reference if you don't have many people writing the Portuguese Bleach-related articles, because even though we made a mistake on Hirako (which we fixed), we have several people who sometimes go over the articles and verify every detail's correctness. In the PT Wikipedia we have no reasons to use the name the way you, english speakers, use. Our pronunciation (I always repeat it) is very next to the japanese, so I think I'll keep his name as Jagaajakku. And Jaggerjack is more correct than Jaguarjack, wich is very ugly.
Oh, and don't worry, I use the En Wiki a lot. The only problem is that I don't trust only one site, so I always do eveything with two other sites, so I can be sure. The En has a lot of users helping, while here I can count with one hand everyone that really helps. In the Bleach page it's only me here.
