William Mark Whitten

William Mark Whitten é um botânico estadunidense.

Formou-se em Biologia em 1976 no Thomas More College, terminou seu mestrado em botânica em 1979 na University of Tennessee, obteve seu Ph.D. em ciências botânicas na University of Florida em 1985, onde é professor e pesquisador da filogenia molecular de Orchidaceae. Desde 1993 é cientista senior no Florida Museum of Natural History. Faleceu 12 de abril de 2019 de causas naturais em sua casa, na Flórida.
