Duração do filme[editar código-fonte]
Sobre a duração do filme, encontrei discussão talvez relevante.[1] Aparentemente, há versões alternadas dele, o Rotten Tomatoes e o Letterboxd lista como de duração 46 minutos, o Eastman Museum como sendo de 45 minutos, e há a fonte atual do verbete que se deu à época do lançamento do filme, que o lista como 36 minutos. Ainda, o catálogo da AFI lista como 38 minutos, e há uma versão em streaming da Amazon de 37 minutos. Por ser filme em domínio público, deixo aqui que encontrei uma versão de 44 minutos no sítio Cinema Livre (impedido por filtro de deixar aqui) e outra de de 37 minutos que está disponível em Vídeo no YouTube.

- Want to clear something, there are no different versions, it's a little complicated matter, there are some different transfers with faulty speeds. It's complicated with these early movies because at that time framerates and speeds were not standardized like today. And that's why most of the time length of movies from these times are generally stated in film meters or like 2 reels, 3 reels, because duration in minutes is a variable thing, different results could happen depending on various things. But on the other hand physical film lengh (in meters) won't change, it stays same, that's why film lengths mostly stated in meters or reels from these times
- What matters is how it was -originally- released. We have reliable contemporaneous source that confirms what was its duration when it was originally released. And there are a lot of DVD releases that's properly done from Chaplin archives which is 36 minutes runtime. Of course there can be 1-2 minutes differences with web transfers this happens with even modern movies with different region releases (like ~3 minutes PAL<->NTSC differences)
- So, these versions with different runtimes are not "different versions", it's same footage, there is no difference in content, just it's in a different speed. For example, you can just take a 1 hour movie and save it in a speed that would make it 3 hours or 10 minutes etc.. that doesn't mean it's a different version, it means it's saved with an incorrect speed.
