English: Arirang, Lyrics in English Adaptation-2 by GSIT at HUFS in 2013.
We produced three English versions of Arirang lyrics. Translation-1 is the literal translation of the original Korean lyrics. Adaptation-2 and Adaptation-3 are specially produced by adapting W. B. Yeats' great poem, 'The Falling of the Leaves,' to convey the woe and sorrow with which Korean people sympathize when they listen to this song. |

| Origem | I was the general director of this Arirang project in 2013. In this project, a group of professional translators and interpreters at the 'Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies' produced singable lyrics of the representative "Arirang" in 9 languages other than Korean with the guidance of Dr. Jongsup Jun, linguistics professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. On 3 December 2013, we held a concert under the title of "Let the World Sing Arirang in their Tongues", in which HUFS student choir sang the famous Kyunggi "Arirang" in English, Chinese, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian, Arabic and Korean. |
