Uso

Este é um meta-modelo utilizado por todas as sub-caixas da escala de ciclones tropicais para Predefinição:Info/Evento meteorológico. Ele é usado para padronizar todas as subcaixas baseadas em escala.

Por padrão, as unidades são métricas, com exceção dos ventos e rajadas, que são "'sempre em nós"'. Este é o caso para reflectir a utilização Internacional de nós na medição da velocidade do vento. Este pode ser substituído fornecendo um modelo {{cvt}} como um valor, ou anexando a unidade relevante ("mph" ou "kmh") ao final do valor para conversão automática, no entanto, ambos vêm como um recurso "por sua conta e risco", pois isso reduz a capacidade de manutenção.

O parâmetro |basin= também pode ser usado para alterar as unidades; defina-o como alt ou pas para mudar para o sistema imperial. Para evitar totalmente as unidades, pode optar por passar o texto para os valores relacionados (por exemplo, passar {{cvt|142|mph|kmh|abbr=on}}|winds= ou |gusts=), mas isto dificulta a manutenção posterior e não é aconselhável.

Categoria automáticas de tempestades

Para algumas subcaixa, a categoria de uma tempestade pode ser inferida a partir da velocidade do vento ou de outros dados meteorológicos. Para permitir que a caixa calcule automaticamente a categoria, forneça um parâmetro |auto-category=. Estes parâmetros serão utilizados no caso de |category= estar vazio, permitindo aos editores que ambos os cálculos automáticos à esquerda façam o trabalho ou substituam a categoria, se necessário.
