Marcelo Monte  (born July 26, 1958 in Campinas, São Paulo) is a motor racing driver from Brazil Brazil.

Personal and early life
He lives in Campinas, Brazil with his wife Ana Maria and children Marcela where they have resided since 1994. He owns construction engineering.

Career
Unlike other Brazilian drivers, he did not begin in Kart racing, but rather started racing in 1977 at the age of 19 at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace (formerly known as InterLagos) running with an Opel Chevette in the novice category, passing then to other categories of greatest importance in Brazil, also competing with Volkswagen Passat and Opel Opala.

Through his friend and colleague at the Engineering Faculty of Raul Boesel in 1982 came the opportunity to run in the United States, where he started on the team of Mike Peterman, the Peterman Race.

Alternated by 10 years running in the United States and Europe, outside of Brazil debuted at Laguna Seca-USA in the year 1983, having gotten out with victory in his race in the USA, he adapted very well and quickly driving the Porsche 911 and 930, Peterman's Race, was soon noticed by the team that would be a great developer of cars including leveraged growth when team brought back from Brazil a few torsion bars and hand-sized that were used in the Volkswagen Beetle of Brazilian competition, despite enjoying the night and don't take care of the physical , so I fell into the graces of the Mr. Peterman, are communicated well with the two main mechanics, Patrick and Mike of Cuban, and also with South American pilots who always rented cars and even, in the words of Mr. Peterman, who always had a great fondness for him, Marcelo was a shame, could get along better, but there was nothing professional, not studying the circuits before the competition and took information, sat in the car and walked, just like a lot of mechanical and driving, well I tried adds Peterman. Near of 30 years emerged the opportunity always expected by him, the DTM, but he couldn't lift the part of the patronage that it was up to the pilots to take teams, fact this always lamented for him.

Monte an also for 1 times in the 24 of Le Mans, with Porsche 930, finishing in 34 position, at 7:0 hour the end due to oil leaks, with riders English  David Ovey and Paul Smith.

Ended his career in 1993, after suffering severe accident in Djon Prenois in France, after the fact tried to come back but returned slowly and always resorting to strong doses of for withstand the pain.
