“To express feelings, to communicate sensations and even thoughts… To know how to make an instrument play… This is the Lion of Judah!”

Created by Adriano Paternostro Tosto, the Lion of Judah offers an innovative look and design, making this guitar not merely an instrument but a true work of art.

Crafted from Jacarandá da Bahia wood, the Lion of Judah is one of a kind in having been sculpted with 15 wood-carving chisels from pieces over 200 years old. The neck features a Hebrew text written in gold. A menorah adorned with 7 brilliant precious stones (each one representing a light) sits prominently on the headstock.

In honor of the people of Israel, the guitar’s name alludes to the symbol of the Lion of Judah worshipped by the tribe of Judah, representing strength, power, pride and self-confidence.

The Hebrew text written in between the partitions is the passage from Deuteronomy 6:4-9: “Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. Impress them upon your children. Recite them when you stay at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them serve as a symbol on your forehead; inscribe them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” These words challenge Israel to listen and recognize Yahweh as the only God in love and fidelity.

To produce a sound on any guitar, each and every note is a challenge. To produce a sound on the Lion of Judah, each and every note opens the possibility to transcend the barriers of the musical universe and reach the highest stages, in addition to enchanting audiences with its artistic authenticity.
