Task categories

SuggestBot uses template substitution when it posts suggestions. In those templates (Usuário(a):SuggestBot/Templates/Regulars and Usuário(a):SuggestBot/Templates/Requests) there are six different task categories used. The configuration of those categories varies from Wikipedia to Wikipedia, e.g. Norwegian Wikipedia has a category of "important stubs" and Swedish Wikipedia has six articles needing sources and no Wikify category.

I have looked around at the Portuguese Wikipedia's categories and here's a suggestion for the categories SuggestBot could use:

Categoria:!Esboços por tema and Categoria:!Artigos mínimos

Articles needing sources

Categoria:!Artigos com referências não fiáveis, Categoria:!Artigos que carecem de fontes, Categoria:!Artigos que carecem de fontes secundárias, Categoria:!Artigos que carecem de notas de rodapé, Categoria:!Artigos com citações quebradas, and Categoria:!Artigos que necessitam de verificação factual

Lacking images

There does not seem to be a great number of stubs here on Portuguese Wikipedia, so instead of having 19 stubs it will probably be good to have fewer and instead have more articles in need of sources and articles needing images (there's ~100,000 articles needing images).

Please let me know if there are categories I should know about that I can include, both within this existing list of task categories and as suggestions for other task categories, I'll be happy to help figure out a configuration that appears to be most useful to users here on Portuguese Wikipedia. Hi, Nettrom. I will help out translating when I can. In the meantime, there are Categoria:!Artigos mínimos for sub-stub or minimum articles. You may like to clump these with the stub articles. GoEThe (discussão) 21h43min de 20 de fevereiro de 2013 (UTC)

SuggestBot

Hi, thanks for being interested in SuggestBot! The bot is currently not working. I submitted the approval request just yesterday and as far as I know I should not run the bot until after it has been reviewed. Just a quick update. I've made a test edit with my own account, and that worked. Unfortunately we've run into a minor performance problem, which I'm looking into and will hopefully have fixed tomorrow. You should therefore see some suggestions arrive in the next day or so. Speaking of translation

I had a look, and there's a fair number of articles in that category (our crawl found ~5250), so it's definitely a good candidate. It will also be interesting to see how good SuggestBot's suggestions from that category are, I am not sure how they fit our technology. I've added it to our configuration and to the templates, so it'll start posting articles from that category from now on. As GoEThe points out, we have a bot request submitted (it's also linked from the bot notice and the Status section on SuggestBot's user page). Since we are quickly approaching the 50 edits granted to us in our request, I have been monitoring our progress closely to decide when it's time to report our results. I have now updated the bot request, reporting that things have been going smoothly so far. Let me know if there are any questions about the bot, I'd be happy to respond.
