Os textos da Wikipedia devem respeitar o ponto de vista neutro. Para alem disso, neste caso em particular a não observância dessa regra pode trazer riscos graves para todo o projecto. Joao

O artigo sobre Cientologia tem conteúdo tendencioso. A idéia de que haja alguma relação entre Cientologia e Budismo é bastante exótica e sem fundamento; vide por exemplo http://atheism.about.com/b/a/057160.htm

Existem algumas afirmações no sentido de que haja uma ligação, mas são de qualidade questionável e me parecem francamente tendenciosas ou talvez apenas mal-informadas:

Este último link, da própria Igreja da Cientologia, é um exemplo de desinformação, como ilustrado por este trecho:

"The Buddhism that first became popular in China during the Han dynasty (206 B.C.—A.D. 220) taught the indestructibility of the soul,"

Isso não tem fundamento. A doutrina budista não ensina nada sobre uma alma indestrutível. Pelo contrário, afirma repetidamente que não existe uma alma impermanente.

Pensei em editar o artigo, mas como sou novo aqui por enquanto vou apenas fazer este comentário. Talvez eu mesmo edite o artigo daqui a uns dois ou três dias. Mas se houver a intenção de manter essas afirmações (na minha opinião indevidas), seria conveniente pelo menos citar as fontes. O mesmo se aplica às afirmações sobre o Shinto e o Cristianismo.

Eu estudei e pratiquei Taoísmo de 1987 a 1994 e Budismo Theravada de 1995 a 2000 e posso afirmar com conhecimento de causa que Cientologia tem sim muitas semelhanças e partilha de crenças com estas duas filosofias. A concepção e reconhecimento da existência de um Ser Supremo (a oitava dinâmica, segundo Cientologia) sem prestar culto ou adoração e sem interferir neste conceito é um dos exemplos principais. O Budismo e o Taoísmo sempre foram considerados por muito tempo como religiões ateístas, e na verdade jamais o foram. Trata-se de puro desconhecimento (ou ignorância) de quem fala. Elas reconhecem a existência de um Deus e apenas não prestam culto a ele, preferindo lidar com os problemas da existência atual. Cientologia tem conceito idêntico. A divisão da mente em analítica, somática e reativa que a Dianética faz é muito semelhante ao conceito de agregados mentais do Budismo Theravada. Estes são apenas alguns dos muitos exemplos que encontrei lendo um livro de Cientologia. E quero deixar bem claro que não sou Cientólogo. O fato de não haver ênfase em meditação e contemplação em Cientologia é normal, uma vez que esta filosofia se inspira nas outras citadas, mas não copia ou imita elas. Isso é natural.

A despeito das coisas erradas que esta religião faça ou das contradições e problemas que seu fundador tenha tido, condesso que os dois livros de Cientologia que li fazem muito sentido (enquanto teoria) e se assemelham MUITO aos conceitos do Budismo Theravada e do Taoísmo Ortodoxo.

Wilson, a cientologia realmente us(urp)ou conceitos do budismo e do taoismo, mas os pratica de forma totalmente diferente. Alem do mais: todas as alegacoes de que os resultados da dianetica e cientologia fazem efeito e que sao cientificamente comprovadas nao sao aceitas pela comunidade cientifica. Suppressive article in German Wikipedia

Authors for German Wikipedia articles undermining credibility of Wikipedia. Subject: Scientology The German article about Scientology shows obvious digressions from the actual lemma. It doesn’t really distinguish from Scientology as a body of beliefs and related practices and the Scientology movement in Germany. In fact, if you have a look at the notes, references and external links in the German Wikipedia, you will find only one weblink to the german Scientology Kirche „Was ist Scientology“ as reference for source data, all other references are from opposing parties and critics. Regarding ongoing discrimination of Scientology in Germany, in the introduction it is said on second part, that Scientology is observed by the Office for the protection of Constitution in Germany – this seems to be important enough to give the reader a hint at first. In the chapter history, the proper name for Scientology technique auditing is not used nor defined, instead, the word „Psychotechniken“ is written, a word what is commonly found in connection with sects and maltreadment. Further, the article is kept way to short and is not given the reader a good information and understanding, regarding the bulk of data Scientology itself is offering. In fact, the German article is exactly doing what is written in the english version: „Scientologists have argued that the published accounts of the Xenu story and other teachings are distortions of their practice, presented out of context for the purpose of ridiculing their religion.“ Xenu is introduced, but no hint or background data is given. In „auditing“ you will read, that two electrodes are fixed on the preclears skin. It is unclear how much current goes to the wires and if it is harmful for the person. Also, the „fixation“ of the electrodes is not described, it could be under compulsion, regarding of the word psychotechniken used in the beginning. In „Weitere Techniken“, the OCA-Test is called „pseudowissenschaftlich“ = pseudo scientific. In „Positive Kritik“ (=positive criticism) it is stated, that outside criticism is seldom. The exception would be a study about the development of Scientology in the ucrainish Charkiw, it is assumed, that a „Scientology-layer“ helped participiants to get on in postcommunistic day life. The article itself is kept in conjunctiv, in the way that things might be, giving the article a negative connotation. It is flagrant to see, that the German article is written by people informed through the press and media, not using source data. I went into discussion and Fossa, a user of Wikipedia said, that Scientology source data are irreputable!!! The article itself is demonstrating, that it is written by using secondary sources, mostly critics. If you have a look to the introduction of the authors of the article, you recognize, that those people are mostly high educated and able to use English. It seems to be obvious, that the German authors have vicious intentions. To write a proper article, and to be in accordance with Wikipedia rules, it would be easy to use the english Scientology Wikipedia version, what is introducing Scientology itself, refering to credible and qualified sources. Dear reader, see yourself concernd of this matter, helping to keep Wikipedia by it rules. So please, send a email to Wikipedia Germany, info-de@wikimedia.org, asking for taking care of this subject, and have a copy sent to your national Wikipedia – OSA Int is informed. Further, put this text into the internet. Wolfgang PS: Regarding outside positive criticism, it might help the German article displaying wins and results of other people using Scientology technology. Alguem está atacando os sites da cientologia

Quem está atacando se intitula "Anonymous", e não é um grupo "hacker" per se (de acordo com significado original da palavra). Uma busca no Youtube mostra diversos vídeos sobre as intenções do ataque. Cientologia é um culto perigoso que esconde o que pretende ensinar, cobra altas taxas de seus participantes, persegue quem questiona as intenções do grupo ou mesmo quem deseja sair dele; procure informações sobre o assunto e encontrará diversos casos, desde pessoas que foram vítimas até governos atuando para reduzir o alcance desse grupo.

Brincadeiras no artigo

Esse artigo deve ser removido ou corrigido, pois a credibilidade da Wikipedia é colocada em risco com a publicação de um artigo com claros erros, algum administrador deve "travar" a página para que não hajam mais ataques, ainda mais por se tratar de uma crença, algo que sempre deve ser respeitado.
