=Sculptor's studio. 619 Western Avenue, in Seattle's Pioneer Square neighborhood, is a building containing mainly artist studios and small, artist-owned gallery spaces. First Thursday, September 2006. First Thursday (the oldest "art walk" in Seattle)is the traditional evening for gallery openings in the Pioneer Square neighborhood, and for artists in the neighborhood to open their studios to the general public. This photo is of a sculptor's studio, used by permission.

The building is a somewhat loosely run collective of artists. First Thursdays at the 619 building are crowded. Music flows through each floor, and visitors are invited to explore the individual artist's studios as well as the gallery exhibitions. Both established and emerging artists work in the building, and many artists are brought in from around the country to exhibit at the various galleries. The building houses painters, sculptors, jewelers, clothing designers, and photographers, mixed media artists, and furniture artisans, as well as many other disciplines.

The building also houses two non-profit groups. The Tibetan Nuns Project and ArtWorks, which empowers young artists. Both non-profits have websites.
