Predefinição:Infobox organizationInstituto Mais Liberdade, or +Liberdade, is a Portuguese non-profit association, founded in February 2021, which advocates the promotion of economic liberalism, freedom of choice. [1]

Objectives and Founding Principles[editar | editar código-fonte]

+Liberdade promotes a free society based on individual, political and economic freedom. It stands for free trade, fiscal competitiveness, scrutiny and transparency of public authorities, the fight against corruption, social mobility and freedom of choice. [2]

The founding principle of the institute is to promote debates without looking for a single vision or doctrine. This discussion aims to promote self-knowledge and reduce financial and economic illiteracy by studying public policies and their consequences. [3] [4] [5]

Although some of its founding members have political party connections, Instituto +Liberdade has no connection to political parties, and its funding depends on membership fees and donations from companies and individuals.[6]

Founders and members[editar | editar código-fonte]

It was founded by several personalities linked to the Portuguese political, academic and business circles. [2] [5] Among them, Carlos Guimarães Pinto, Adolfo Mesquita Nunes, André Pinção Lucas, Lídia Pereira, Pedro Santa-Clara, Ana Rita Bessa, Ricardo Arroja, Carlos Moreira da Silva. [2] [7]

The Institute quickly reached over 6,000 members as less than 5 months after the launching date. [8]

As part of promoting financial literacy, +Liberdade created +Factos, publishing various analyses and infographics on relevant economics and politics topics to the society. [9] An online library is also available with more than six hundred titles, within the scope of liberal thought. [10]

In addition to national partnerships, Instituto +Liberdade is a partner with several international organizations, namely other think tanks, such as the Fraser Institute, Institute of Economic Affairs, Cato Institute, Foundation for Economic Education, Atlas Network, Students for Liberty, Hoover Institution and Tax Foundation .
