Rachel Castro (born 1953, in Campinas, SP, Brazil) is a contemporary visual artist.

Early career

Rachel Castro is an architect and industrial designer by university education, and works as a visual artist. Participated and exhibited works at UNIRIO (Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro) based in the Urca neighborhood, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 1999 and at IBEU (Brazil - United States Institute) at Copacabana Art Gallery, in Rio January also in 1999, both with objects. Rachel Castro started to walk the path of new media after passing through photography and audiovisual, and continued with an almost annual participation in FILE ( International Electronic Language Festival ) both in Rio de Janeiro and in São Paulo, mainly, and later doing a duo with Maurício Castro, like Rachelmauricio Castro in new media . This period at FILE started in 2009 until 2022, with some non-participations at 2015 to 2021.
