Sound of... é uma sondagem anual feita por críticos e membros da indústria musical, no sentido de encontrar os novos talentos musicais mais promissores, tendo sido apresentada pela primeira vez pela BBC em 2003. A lista de vencedores, habitualmente com dez nomes, é publicada em cada Janeiro no site da estação.[1]

A lista dos nomeados ao Sound of 2011 foi revelada no dia 6 de Dezembro de 2010,[18] com os nomes: Anna Calvi, Clare Maguire, Daley, Esben and the Witch, Jai Paul, James Blake, Jamie Woon, Jessie J, Mona, Nero, The Naked and Famous, The Vaccines, Warpaint, Wretch 32 e Yuck. No dia 7 de Janeiro de 2011, foi anunciada como vencedora Jessie J.[19]
