Lance Reddick (Baltimore, 7 de junho de 1962 - Los Angeles, 17 de março de 2023) foi um ator e cantor americano.[1][2][3][4]
Biografia[editar | editar código-fonte]
Estudou na Eastman School of Music (Rochester, Nova Iorque) e na Universidade de Yale. Enquanto tentava seguir uma carreira de cantor e um trabalho a tempo parcial para pagar as suas contas, Reddick lesionou as costas e teve de desistir. Formou-se em teatro na Universidade de Yale e trabalhou em cinema, televisão e várias peças de teatro.[5] Em 2011, Lance se casou com Stephanie Day.[6] Em 17 de março de 2023, foi encontrado sem vida em seu apartamento e segundo fontes policiais o ator teria morrido de causas naturais.[7]

Ele fez sua estreia em 1996 em um episódio de New York Undercover. Em 2000 e 2001, ele interpretou o papel do detetive Johnny Basil na série de televisão da HBO Oz. Em 2002, ele apareceu no videoclipe '03 Bonnie & Clyde de Jay-Z e Beyoncé disfarçado de policial.[8] De 2002 a 2008, ele estrelou a série de televisão A escuta como Cedric Daniels.[9] Em 2008-2009, Reddick foi Matthew Abaddon na série de televisão Lost. [10] Ainda em 2008 aceitou estrelar o episódio piloto da série Fringe, criada pelo próprio Abrams no papel de Phillip Broyles.[11][12]
Ele desempenhou o papel até 2013, quando a série terminou. Logo depois foi escolhido por Ryan Murphy para fazer o papel de Papa Legba na terceira temporada de American Horror Story, um papel que ele também repetirá na oitava temporada.
