Um automóvel com direção automática (em inglês: autonomous car, driverless car ou self-driving car1 ) é um veículo capaz de transportar pessoas e mercadorias sem a utilização de um motorista.2 3

Este tipo de automóvel ainda está em regulamentação em diversos países4

A direção também calibra a frenagem e a aceleração de forma a economizar combustível.5 6 7

No estado americano de Nevada este tipo de carro já está em regulamentação.8 9
