O The Great Americam Bash foi um evento anual de wrestling profissional produzido inicialmente pela National Wrestling Alliance e Jim Crockett Promotions e depois pela World Championship Wrestling. Agora é produzido pela WWE. De acordo com Ric Flair, em sua autobiografia, To Be the Man, Dusty Rhodes inventou o conceito de The Great American Bash.

Após a edição de 2000 do Great American Bash pela World Championship Wrestling em 11 de junho de 2000, o pay-per-view não seria realizado novamente devido à aquisição da WCW pela WWE. No entanto, após um hiato quatro anos, o evento foi reativado em junho de 2004. The Great American Bash é o único pay-per-view ex-WCW já realizado pela WWE.

Jim Crockett Promotions utilizou o "The Great American Bash" como o nome de uma turne que teve vários PPVs em todo o país. Em 1986, foram realizados 13 The Great American Bashes e o campeão Ric Flair ddefendeu seu título em todos eles, enfrentou pela ordem Ricky Morton, Road Warrior Hawk, Ron Garvin, Nikita Koloff, Robert Gibson, Road Warrior Animal, Magnum T.A., Wahoo McDaniel e Dusty Rhodes . Flair contesta a derrota sofrida por ele no no último Bash em 2 de agosto com o argumento que a última edição da turne era a anterior.
