Nasceu "Wesley Cook Bentley" filho de pastores em Jonesboro, Arkansas. Ele cresceu em Mountain Home e mais tarde Sherwood. Ele atualmente mora em Los Angeles, Califórnia.
Ele atuou em filmes como American Beauty e The Four Feathers. Foi confirmado para a 4.ª temporada da série American Horror Story intitulada de Freak Show e a 5.ª temporada intitulada Hotel.
