Elizabeth Ruth Grable (18 de Dezembro de 1916 – 2 de Julho de 1973) foi uma dançarina, cantora e atriz estadunidense.
Biografia [editar]
Sua foto em traje de banho, olhando para trás por sobre o ombro direito, transformou-a na maior das pin-ups durante a II Guerra Mundial. A imagem foi posteriormente incluída numa lista compilada pela revista LIFE, 100 Photos that Changed the World (As 100 Fotos que Mudaram o Mundo).
Grable era mais conhecida por suas pernas esculturais, mostradas em todos os musicais em Technicolor nos quais ela trabalhou para a 20th Century Fox e que foram seguradas pelo Lloyd's de Londres em US$ 1.000.000 por perna.
Após o período de guerra, ela seguiu fazendo musicais. Foram no total 25, em 13 anos. Depois disso só brigas com os estúdios, até que seu contrato foi suspenso. Ela ainda fez alguns trabalhos na TV, sem grande sucesso e estreou alguns musicais, como Hello Dolly! no teatro.
Foi casada duas vezes primeiro com Jackie Coogan e depois com Harry James com quem teve dois filhos e de quem também acabou se divorciando.
Betty Grable morreu de câncer de pulmão, em 1973, com apenas 56 anos. Encontra-se sepultada no Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Condado de Los Angeles, Califórnia nos Estados Unidos.
