Edward Louis Severson III (Evanston, 23 de Dezembro de 1964), mais conhecido como Eddie Vedder, é um cantor estadunidense. É vocalista da banda de rock Pearl Jam. Toca, também, guitarra e, ocasionalmente, ukulele e harmónica.
Eddie Vedder teve uma infância perturbadora, sabe-se que é filho de pais separados; sua mãe casou com um advogado, que adotou Eddie quando criança, e assim passou a chamar-se Eddie Muller; mais tarde, após nova separação de sua mãe, mudou o seu nome para Eddie Vedder.
Vedder teve apenas um encontro com o seu pai biológico, sendo que este lhe foi apresentado como um amigo da família que anos mais tarde morreu (só nesta altura Eddie descobriu a verdadeira identidade do pai; as músicas "Alive" e "Release" - do álbum Ten - descrevem a situação de Eddie Vedder).
Eddie estudou até a faculdade, apesar de ter tentado ir às aulas. Fascinado por basketball e por surf, o vocalista da banda de Seattle, iniciou a sua carreira musical, numa banda chamada Bad Radio(onde escreveu Better Man), mais tarde participou no único álbum homônimo da banda Temple Of The Dog (banda em homenagem ao vocalista da banda Mother Love Bone, que tinha morrido recentemente de overdose). Depois de participar da gravação do album homônimo do Temple of the Dog, Eddie Vedder juntou-se a Mike McCready, Stone Gossard, Dave Krusen e a Jeff Ament formando assim, no inicio dos anos 90, o Pearl Jam.
Em 1992 gravaram o Acústico MTV que ficou marcado pelo fato de Eddie Vedder ter exposto a posição da banda em relação ao aborto: escrevendo "pro choice" em seu braço ao som da música Porch.
Eddie fez ainda a voz de um concerto de The Doors (em memória de Jim Morrison). Casou em 1994 com Beth Liebling, na cidade de Roma; com quem namorava desde 1984. Beth é membro da banda Hovercraft na qual Eddie já fez algumas participações. O casamento durou até Setembro de 2000 (16 anos) e em 2001 Eddie conheceu Jill Mccormick, com quem tem duas filhas: Olivia nascida em 2004 e Harper nascida em 2008.
Ao longo dos anos a banda tornou-se mais coesa, seguindo sempre os seus ideais, quase sempre polêmicos...
Durante os últimos tempos a banda tem-se mantido mais recatada, sendo que no ano de 2004 fez, com outras bandas de renome, uma digressão pelos Estados Unidos, numa tentativa de boicotar o voto ao presidente Bush (tentativa que não surtiu efeito; Eddie foi muito criticado pela imprensa e pelos fãs por ter queimado em palco uma máscara de George W. Bush.)
