Claire Catherine Danes (Nova York, 12 de abril de 1979) é uma atriz norte-americana. Ficou mundialmente conhecida por ter interpretado Angela Chase na série norte-americana My So-Called Life, Julieta em Romeo + Juliet e Yvaine em Stardust. Em 2010, Danes interpretou a austista humanitária Temple Grandin no filme do canal HBO de mesmo nome. Pelo papel, ela ganhou o Emmy Award e o Globo de Ouro de Melhor Atriz em Filme ou Missérie para TV. É casada com o também ator Hugh Dancy, que interpretou o príncipe Char no filme Ella Enchanted.

Biografia

Danes nasceu em Manhattan, em Nova York. Sua mãe, Carla, era ama de crianças, pintora, e estilista de roupas, mas depois se tornou manager de sua filha. Seu pai, Christopher Danes, é consultor de computadores.

Danes estudou na Dalton School, no New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies, no Professional Performing Arts School e no Liceu Francês de Los Angeles. Em 1998 foi para a Universidade de Yale. Depois de estudar durante dois anos Psicologia, saiu da universidade para se concentrar na sua carreira de atriz.
